Lesson 10: Practical Training

Learning Objective of practical training  

• To start familiarising yourself with the prompt engineering methodology created by 100mentors. 
• To critically assess the output from mega-prompts you create based on your needs. 
• To prepare for the next module, where we delve deeper into adding information to our context, continuing the interaction with GenAI to improve the output we receive. 

Instructions for practical training 

• Choose a GenAI tool of your choice for text generation tasks (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot). 
• Create mega prompts for one or more tasks following the instructions in the next slide and “run” them in the tool of your choice. 
• Evaluate the output you got from each mega-prompt and think about what information is missing to improve the output from GenAI. 

Activity 1: Mega-prompt for blog post generation (informative article)

Complete the gap to create a blog post with the topic of your choice. Try out the mega-prompt in a GenAI tool of your choice. 

1. Role: Act as a blogger (article writer)
2. Context: You work for Youth Today, an online magazine informing youth about the latest news and trends. 
3. Task: I want you to create an article informing readers about __________________________ and provide practical advice. Do not forget to include statistics or examples to support your arguments. 
4. Audience: The article is aimed at young adults between the age of 18-30, interested in receiving multifaceted and objective updated on latest news. 
5. Goal: to provide meaningful updates and help young people develop their critical thinking. 
6. Format: A 300-word article with a title, an introduction, analysis and a conclusion. 

Activity 2: Mega-prompt for TikTok video

Complete the gaps to create a scenario for a TikTok video with the topic and goal of your preference. Try out the mega-prompt in a GenAI tool of your choice. 

1. Role: Act as a TikTok Content Creator. 
2. Context: You work for Trendy Clips, a social media content creation company, specialising in TikTok. 
3. Task: I want you to create a TikTok video that informs the audience about _________________________–
4. Audience: The video is aimed at young adults between the age of 18-30 that use TikTok. 
5. Goals: To attract attention of the audience and __________________
6. Format: A scenario for a 15-60 second video, including creative ideas for shooting and scripting.
